Teddy's 1st Day

Here are a couple more pics after a good night's rest and plenty of sleeping, eating, and pooping all day!
 Bengals Orange Pacifier?
These two were more impressed with the snack selection at the hospital than with their lil bro. And Violet is just relaxing with the leg up!

Theodore John Ober

Teddy came quickly on June 28th and was born at 4:35pm (an hour after arriving at the hospital). He was 7lbs 5oz, 19.5"" long, and just perfect. Here are a few pictures with a million more to come over the years! Brooke did fantastic with her swift and natural delivery.

Sun Prints

To celebrate the beginning of summer, we created sun-inspired monoprints (courtesy of Make and Takes).  Once Max got the hang of it, he was off and running. Violet didn't quite grasp the concept, so she grabbed some other tools and started her own project. Our sunny paintings line our fireplace mantel for a bright summer banner.

Camping and Strawberry Fest

Friday night, Nick and Max decided to camp out in the backyard. We came home late from the concert in the park and the boys put up the tent in the dark while Violet was put to bed. After the tent was built, they made s'mores and set to bed. Both guys were asleep quickly and slept till after 7am (which is shocking considering the sun rises at about 4:00am these days).

Come Saturday, I was determined to walk Baby Steve out at the Strawberry Fest - yet I sit here Monday afternoon and still no baby! But in any case, we had a great time at the Fest with Nani and Grandpa and enjoyed many strawberry-flavored treats.

Lights out!

The duck race we didn't win.

The next Neil Armstrong (hopefully not that crazy lady astronaut who still wears a diaper)!

Father's Day

I'm a little delayed on posting our pictures from Father's Day, but better late than never, right? I left the day up to Nick and it turned out to be a relaxing and fun day for us all. After opening gifts, Nick took the kids on an early morning bike ride (courtesy of our thrifted bike trailer) and stopped at a park to play. For an hour or so, I felt like it was Mother's Day! We met for brunch and then headed home to relax. Later that night, we ran out for a quick mexican dinner and the kids fell asleep on the way home - a perfect ending to our day!

Another homemade gift from the kids. Inspired from this.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Why I decided to pick strawberries in 90 degree weather while 9 1/2 months pregnant with two small kids alone, I'll never know, but we sure had a good time. It was an afternoon to remember with them before their world changes!

Or maybe this was why!

Mini House Tour

Since the kids pretty much run our lives these days, it's only fitting that they have the coolest rooms in our house! Here is a tour of what we've done over the past couple of months.

Basement
We finished off the ceiling and installed new carpet. It doesn't feel like a basement anymore, but rather a quiet, cool place where the kids can run wild and we can relax.

Max's Room
When we emptied the nursery, we gave Max the queen bed and a couple new pieces of furniture. Nick painted the accent wall and added some baseball memorabilia. He sleeps like a king!

His baseball collection from all over the country.

Violet's Room
A little violet oasis for our girl. She received Max's old furniture with a couple new pieces to match.

Her room was inspired by the bottom card seen here given to me by my Mom when Violet was born.

The Nursery
I'm thrilled how it all turned out. A cute nautical theme, but still simple and modern. Now if only he'll come out to actually see all the work we've done!

A lot of items in the room were DIY, which helped me keep the cost down. Although Nick will beg to differ!
