We're on a Boat!

A couple weeks ago, we met some friends for a morning boat ride that included storytime, music, dancing and cookies and juice. The rain kept us inside the cabin most of the trip, but we still had fun cruising on Lake Norman.

A few hours after the boat ride, Violet passed out while playing on the iPad. Maybe her juice was spiked!

Over the River and Through the Woods...

On a steamy, sunny morning we decided to go for a short hike in the trails nearby our house. What would normally take about 10 minutes to walk, took almost 45 with three kids dragging their tails!

Hard to see in the brush, but we were pretty sure this was the mama deer that left her baby fawn in our yard a few weeks back (or at least that's what I told the kids, shh)!

And this was how the walk home went. Man, is he a lazy two-year old!

Fourth of July

Waiting for the parade to start (and if you blinked long enough, you would have missed it)!

While Nick and the older two enjoyed a bbq and pool party with co-workers, Teddy and me were stuck at home because the little guy came down with a fever. Luckily, we had a few chocolate desserts left to celebrate with!

And this was how our night ended.

Teddy Turns Two!

We celebrated Teddy's 2nd birthday a day early as Nick was attending his brother's bachelor party in Louisville, KY on Saturday. So in any case, Teddy got enough cake and presents to last him another year! And while Daddy was gone, we ventured out around town, played in a jumpy house, and enjoyed a delicious spaghetti dinner (Teddy's favorite).

Now as a solid two year old, Teddy has seemed to expand his vocabulary to include complete sentences such as, "Mama, come over hereeeeeeee now!" Not only has his language developed tenfold, his decimal level has, too! He's obsessed with all construction vehicles, loves pizza and pasta and cookies (who doesn't?) and is our best sleeper to date. Even with his strong commands and many a day tantrums, comes a gentle loving boy who still enjoys being carried by Mama and Daddy and snuggles in the morning and before bed. He's truly our baby boy and makes us all smile each and everyday.

Happy 2nd birthday, Theodore John!

Latest doctor visit: Weighed 28 lbs (50%), grew to 36" tall (90%) and still has a massive head (95%)!

Vacation Bible School

A local church hosted a week-long bible school for kids complete with games, crafts, music, stories and snacks. Violet and Teddy attended while I volunteered in one of the music classes (and Max had a sports camp that week), so our first week back after vacation was a little hectic. With that said, we all enjoyed the fun-filled week and am happy that the kids learned some good lessons about God.

End of School Year

I may be a couple months behind on this, but I figured the pictures were too cute to waste away! Here are some snapshots from Max's last week of Kindergarten.

Max's final homework notebook completed! Hard to believe, but every day (even weekends and holidays), he had an assignment.

He received the "Wonderful Writer" award for his creative stories.

Mrs. Harris and Max

Off to school for one last time.

On Max's final day, we hosted a small party at our house for his class. The kids had a blast hanging together one last time before summer break. And since most likely he won't have many of these kids in his class next year (there are 6 different classes), it was fun to see them as a group one last time.

Off to 1st grade he goes!
