Weekend in Photos

I didn't really mean for the focus to be on our car, but wouldn't this be a great advertisement for GMC?? hahaha

Father/Daughter dance at Germanfest.

Polka dance.

Couldn't help but get the booty shot.

He starts Preschool in one week. Amazing how time flies when you're having fun.

Practicing some editing techniques with this one.

Happy Birthday, Nani!

Me and the kids decided at the last minute to take a trip to Chicago and surprise my Mom for her birthday yesterday. We were able to visit with all the Aunts and Uncles (minus Ro Ro) and little Leo. Lots of pizza, pasta, and cake later, we headed home and rolled the kids right into bed for the night. A great surprise for Nani well worth the mileage. Happy birthday, Ma!

I think Max must have been practicing for Wrestlemania 2 on Grampy!

Wrestlemania

Nick laid out our inflatable mattress for the kids to jump and bounce onto, but rather than play nice, they created Wrestlemania.

It usually starts off like this - jumping, bouncing, having a good time.

And then this happens.

On my count, she takes home the gold belt!

Heat

We had a hot, hot day today, so we wanted to get out and enjoy it while we still can. The kids played on their backyard playground a long time. And, little Miss Sunshine wanted nothing to do with my helping hand down or up the slide. I think she forgets that she can't walk yet!

Showing off her Madonna teeth gap.

This was interesting/frightening to watch.

The breeze through her three strands of hair.

The Next Annie Liebovitz

Not even close, but I did get a fancy new camera for my birthday and have been trying to get some good photos in when I can. I still have A LOT to learn, but I'm having fun in the process. Here are a few pictures from a Maritime Heritage Festival we attended on Sunday.

His sweet angel face.

Nick has a dream to own a boat someday. I could buy into the dream too if we just stayed dockside!

Ice Cream

Violet has a new love - ice cream! She's gotten a little taste here and there, but recently her Daddy has really given her full control of her wants.

Little too cold for the little lady.

Sugar rush!

Seconds, thirds and so and so on.

Birthday Bonanza

With our back-to-back birthdays this week, we've had a busy few days. Nani and Grandpa came to visit on Tuesday and watched the kids while Nick and I went out for my birthday. Considering it was a Tuesday night, we didn't party till dawn (although even if it was the weekend, I doubt we'd ever make it to dawn)! Wednesday morning we woke up bright and early to celebrate Max's 3rd birthday with gifts, a pancake breakfast and play time at the park. After Nani and Grandpa departed, Max had a couple neighbor friends come to play and stay for a pizza dinner. Lots of cupcakes later, the kids (and me) were dragging our tails. Early to bed for all and we were happy to have our birthday bonanza come to an end.

We settled for 3 candles instead of 30.

New scooter.

Playing at the park. I think Nani and Grandpa were having a better time than the kids!

No longer the birthday girl, but that didn't stop her from stealing the spotlight!

1st birthday cupcake of the day.

Killing time before Daddy got home. My back and shoulders are paying for it today!

Beach

We turned a breezy Sunday afternoon into loads of fun at the Harrington Beach. Armed with too many sand shovels, chairs, towels, snacks and anything else we could fit in the double stroller, we walked a short distance to the beachy waterfront. Violet was in heaven on the sand and Max threw about three thousand rocks into the lake. We made it home sandy, wet and tired - but it was well worth the exhaustion.

Isn't this the cutest? Holding hands while strolling.

She loves the sand and sunshine.

Her crazy hair (of the little she has).

If you can spot the stairs in the background, that's where she was heading. What a little stinker!
