Halloween Decor and More

I love, love, love decorating for Halloween.

Our welcoming gold pumpkin.

Even the kids helped. This kept them busy for a long time.

And More...
Violet discovered her obsession with buckles and spends a large amount of time trying to figure them out.

Watching and cheering for our hail storm.

I love when I can catch them being nice and cuddly together.

Fall

With the rainy and windy weather we've had this week, it officially feels like (and I guess is) Fall. This also means the fruit on our apple and pear trees have succumbed to the high winds, which has led to frequent visits from rabbits plumping themselves up on our goods. I probably wouldn't mind the visits if it were not for the turds they leave behind! So we set to work on tossing the half-eaten fruit into our compost pile in hopes this will deter any more night-feedings. And we also picked a few more ripe pears for ourselves.

The tree in danger from Peter Rabbit.

She's ready to work.

My Violet's violet coat!

Our compost pile.

Picking a few for a delicious treat.

After she understood what we were doing, she started taking fruit from the tree rather than the ground and threw those in the compost.

Need to find a good recipe for our pickings.

Happy Day

To Nick on your 32nd birthday,

Even though you could probably just pass this day up without thinking twice and have requested no gifts (which really stinks for me since I loooove shopping for them!) or special celebrations today, I at the very least wanted to tell you how much we love and adore you. You are the hardest working father and husband around and we appreciate everything you do for our family. I am overjoyed to watch you with our children and I know they feel the same the moment you walk through the door. Thank you for being a terriffic partner and friend. Happy birthday old man.

Now stop working and come home!

Love, Brooke

Helicopter

At the Wine and Harvest festival last year, we were visiting Cedarburg trying to find a home all while lugging around a 1 1/2 month old baby and an active two year old. Needless to say, we didn't get to fully immerse ourselves in the fest that time. However, we made up for it tenfold at this year's festivities. After a last minute babysitter reschedule, we went out on the town (only making it to two separate bars - which is a night out on the town here!) and had a great time with neighbors. Reality set in the next morning when Max awoke at 6am and we seriously contemplated calling the babysitter back. In any case, I managed to get a couple photos of the day we spent with the kids.

Small Style: Missoni Baby

Did you really think that the highly sought after Missoni for Target collection would slip through my Mother's fingers without decking out her only granddaughter? Neither did I and lucky for Violet that she reaped the benefits!

Ciao, Nani!

Yep, it didn't last long.

She's on the move!

Love those colorful chevron stripes!

This week's Small Style is all Target for Missoni (except for her Carter's lime green onesie).

Old MacDonald Had a Farm

E I E I O...In 60 degree weather, we had a fun day at the Family Farm. Fed some animals, saw one of the largest turkeys I've ever seen, played around in haystacks and made our way through a cow maize.

And on this farm he had a pig!

with a moo moo here...

That's my hand by the way. Max wouldn't feed the goat with a 10 foot pole!

How we got in and out of this silo, I'll never know. And doing this in my Missoni flats wasn't the best idea!

Max heard his greatest echos yet.

Jumping off haystacks.

She fits perfectly on the farm in her denim jacket.

Love that look!

Took a few tries, but he made it through.

Funny Girl

Violet is really starting to show us her funny personality and I've tried to capture some of it on camera. Whether she's taking some steps, stuffing her face with food, or just bobbing her head back and forth, she can keep us entertained all day long!

Digging through Nani's purse.

Practicing her touchdown dance.

Holding onto her baby while eating.

"Dare me?"

"Hey, this thing doesn't go very fast!"
