Teddy's Story Time

Today was Teddy's last story time for the summer at the library. Once school begins next month, we'll be able to have a little more mommy and son time. But, big sister was there to help him if he needed it.

4th of July Weekend and Zoo Visit

Mamaw and Papa Ober and Uncle Marty came to visit us over the long 4th of July weekend.

We visited some Cincinnati friends at Lake Norman, NC on the 4th for some lake swimming and good barbecue.

Teddy resting with Papa.

Fun time at our local pool. As it rained almost every day that week, we found one day for just a few hours that was dry!

Riverbanks Zoo

The closest zoo to us is in Columbia, SC (about an hour away), so we packed up and headed out last Sunday to visit the animals. And for all those wondering, the lions and tigers did NOT have a twang to their roars! Bummer.

Snapshots

Here are some snapshots of our life lately.

Snuggling with Papa during the summer concert in the park.

Kids enjoying the slide during the summer concert.

Patiently waiting in line.

Delicious and messy housewarming gift from Cincinnati friends (taken especially for you, Sadi).

4th of July parade.

Kids' 4th of July firecracker crafts. Using glitter with these kids is NOT a good idea.

Just one of many forts they've building around the house.

Teddy's Birthday Weekend

The birthday boy had a fun and relaxing day (well it was fun and relaxing in my eyes) with his big siblings. Balloon games, french toast and presents in the morning followed by lunch with Daddy. A super nutritious dinner of Skyline Chili and french silk/chocolate pie for dessert. The next day continued the celebration with a housewarming/birthday party with friends and neighbors. Teddy seemed to enjoy it all (especially the chocolate pie)!

Our first visit to our new pediatrician today wasn't so great with all the shots Teddy had to get, but fortunately, he's a healthy, growing boy who likes to eat the tissue paper from the doctor's office table! He weighed in at 21.6 lbs, 30 1/2" tall and a 95% head circumference.

Not so interested in opening up his gifts.

He took the most steps so far on his birthday, but still not there yet.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"

Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Boy

It's been a crazy, exhausting year since Teddy joined our family, but we wouldn't be complete without him. His infectious smile, boyish charm and silly laugh make each day better. Happy 1st birthday to our baby boy.

Was a rough couple of days, but on to milk and no more bottles. Phew...I'm tired of cleaning those things!

Joy ride for the birthday boy.
