Funny Girl

Violet is really starting to show us her funny personality and I've tried to capture some of it on camera. Whether she's taking some steps, stuffing her face with food, or just bobbing her head back and forth, she can keep us entertained all day long!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy anniversary to two wonderful people - Uncle Jimmie and Auntie Jessica! You are amazing godparents, siblings and friends to us and we couldn't be more happier for you in celebrating four years of your life together. We love you!

First Day of School

Promptly at 9:00am, we walked into Max's Preschool building, hung up his backpack on "his" hook and walked into class. Mrs. Nelsen-Bayer was there to greet him. After a few minutes of him hiding behind my leg, Max found his name tag and placed it in the basket to "check-in." Not 2 seconds later, he dashed through someone's legs and was off, leaving me and my tears in the dust. We stayed for a couple more minutes to be sure he was okay (or maybe to just linger a little while for my own sake) and headed out the door without looking back. Nick came back from work in time for pick up at 11:30am and to see Max's ear-to-ear smile when he walked out of his classroom and saw all of us waiting for him was priceless. It was a great first day of school and we're excited for the year ahead.

In a lonesome house, I let Violet do whatever she wanted. So we walked up and down the stairs 50 times before she went down for a nap.

Meet the Teacher

Max was able to meet his new teachers this morning and visit school before the big day arrives. He was a little apprehensive when we first pulled up, but after spotting a train table when we walked in, he was gone. We visited his classroom, found his basket and coat hook and met some new friends. It was a great "practice" for him and I can proudly say I didn't shed any tears (a big accomplishment for me)!

Wedding Weekend

Our labor day weekend was a whirlwind of weddings. Nick was in Rochester, NY and I was in Galena, IL. The kids were happy at home with my parents and brother and sister-in-law. Too bad we couldn't spend most of the weekend as a family, but we'll have time tomorrow to relax and unwind together. Here are some pictures from Kelly's wedding in Galena.
