Animal Kingdom

Courtesy of Memaw and Papa Ober for Halloween, the kids were treated to a night at Toys R Us picking out some new goodies. On the way home, Max fell asleep in the car and and didn't get a chance to play when he got home. Lucky for us, he woke up bright and early wanting to see his new stuff. Here is what our morning consisted of:

Every animal in the kingdom had breakfast with us.

And, there's just enough of them that if Violet runs away with a couple, he'll never know!

Trunk or Treat

Today was Max's Halloween party at school. At the end of his party, the class got to walk outside and trick-or-treat from all the parents' trunks. With beautiful weather, the kids seemed to have a blast walking from trunk to trunk.

Max holding the teacher's hand. He wouldn't let go except to grab a treat!

The pirate and the princess.

One happy pirate.

Violet was thrilled to see Max in his classroom.

Break the Bank

We decided to empty Max's piggy bank over the weekend to see how much he had accumulated in his three short years. And the bank was becoming heavier and heavier with not a lot of jingle (I'm sure thanks to Grampy!) We were happy and shocked to discover it was a lot more than we had thought.

There is a 50 cent piece still stuck that Nick wanted to hammer out, but since Max's piggy bank is just too darn cute to shatter, we decided against it.

We plan on taking all the change to the bank to be counted and sorted. But as of now, the total is over $150!

Pumpkin Carving

Nick took the lead on the pumpkin carving this year when he saw my free-hand outline of a moon and stars. I guess the Star of David and a banana-shaped moon didn't make the cut. Let's hope the kids do not inherit my artistic skills!

Spooky, right?

Carmela Soprano (the Wisconsin Version)

She's got her velour sweatsuit and gold chains. The only thing missing is some Lee press-on nails.

My favorite part of her outfit is the pink satin lining.

"You talkin' to me?"

Velour sweatsuit: hand-me-down Calvin Klein
Gold chain onesie: gift from Nani

What We've Been Up to Lately

Not much, but we're having fun doing ordinary things.

Playtime with jewelry is always a hit.

The girl loves anything shiny, noisy or sparkly.

Halloween craft in progress.

I'll update photos with his creations.

Giggles and tickles.

Leaves

With our baby trees, I wasn't sure we'd have enough leaves to rake up this fall. Luckily, I was wrong.

Helping rake for Mama.

He was hiding from Daddy.

My Little Pumpkins

It's a little too early to carve them, so pig and dog faces it is.

Brew Crew

It's pretty hard not to root for the team in the city you live especially when they make hilarious t-shirts like these.
Bobble head Brewer and Bernie the Brewer.

Ober Family Visit

Beautiful day with Memaw and Papa.

Throwing rocks in the water never gets old.

While at the park, Max got his first bee sting! After a few tears and a cookie later, he was fine.

Soccer practice.

Water break.

Trying to entertain herself during Max's soccer practice.

Germanfest in Cedarburg.

A human Glockenspiel.

Playing games at the festival.

The wife carrying contest (we're on the left). And yes, we won! Nick doesn't mess around with races.

Pumpkin patch.

Hayride.

May be one of the only times we'll ever pick out pumpkins in t-shirts and shorts.

Corn maize.

We clearly had a fun-filled weekend with family and miss Memaw and Papa already!
